Up until our kit was available, the only available fix for a worn servo bore on the Ford 5R55W, 5R55N, and the 5R55S transmissions was to have the bores bored out and sleeved. This obviously involves dropping the transmission. Not only is that an expensive proposition for high mileage vehicles, it is an undertaking that could only be done by experienced shops or mechanics. This is a common issue with Ford Explorers, Mountaineers, Aviators, Lincoln LS, and Mustangs where the OD light is blinking (that turns into a check engine light) and you have symptoms like shift flares, high revs between shifts, and slipping in overdrive and other gears.
This fix involves a patented fix where o-ring grooves are machined into the OEM parts. The parts included in the kit are the intermediate and overdrive servos/pistons with o-ring grooves machined into them, Viton o-rings installed, and a patented assembly sleeve over those. If you have worn bores, this kit will fix your problem!
